-What to draw or paint and why-
Since my beloved pony Hildir is one of the most important things (people?) in my life, I thought it was time to do something like this contest.

For this contest you have to draw or paint Hildir. It's very important to try to catch his personality and looks, but try not to draw it straigth from the picture. You can do that and I'll love it, but I would also like to see original and beautiful things, not just a copy of the pictures. Be creative!

-Prices-
These are the prices if there are more than 25 entries. If there are less, the prices will be a little bit less (1st: 6 month sub etc.)

First price:
1 year subscription to DA

If anyone wants to donate a price, that would be very much appreciated. Advertising the contest would also be very sweet. I will make a list of all people who advertise the contest (please note me) and then let an innocent hand pick out 5 people for whom I will make a little something. People who donate a price all get a painting.

Personality-wise, it might be nice to know that his name means Warrior. A few things about him: Stubborn, leader of the herd and quite dominant (bites the other horse sometimes but is very cautious and sweet with the goats, unless they try to steal his food, than he'll give them a shove), obedient if you're very strict but he thinks for himself and dares to disobey or react. He doesn't show it when he's in pain (or sick). He can be kind of distant towards people (especially strangers, but he's curious) but he will never do anything dangerous against us. He likes to be treated with respect and love (doesn't every horse?)and he loves to get a good massage or healing. He's very sweet with children and beginning riders: the better the rider, the worse his behaviour . So basically he's just a sweet but very strong-willed pony

-Rules-
*All entries must be made especially for this contest, so after the 3th of september 2008.
*No collaborations please.
*You can enter as many pieces as you want.
*Don't use lineart made by other people, it's not Hildir.
*All submissions must be on DA, unless you want to send them to me if you don't have a scanner. I will scan them for you then. Note me for the adress.

-Media-
Only paintings and drawings are allowed, traditional as well as digital. You can come take a picture as well, but I think it's a bit far for most people Both colour and black and white are allowed. All styles are welcome, too

-Judging-
The most important thing for a piece to be judged on is how well you were able to catch Hildir's personality and looks. Not every spot has to be in the right place, off course, but I have to be able to recognise him. Note that especially his eyes are very important. They really reflect how he feels, so take care of that in your entry
I will judge the entries along with some people that know Hildir in real life (my family and friends).

-Deadline-
The deadline is the first of december 2008, so that's almost 4 months. If there's someone still working on an entry by that time, please note me for an extension.

I can't wait to see what everyone makes of my love If you finish, just send me a note with your entry. I won't give long comments on the pieces until the contest is over because I want to be fair to everyone, but I will go in depth about each piece afterwards. I hope everyone will have a lot of fun with the contest! Good luck!
